While we wait, we PLAY!
Waiting for what’s being built, we’re now focused on building a life we love
We’ve entered a season of sharing Costa Rica with friends.
And with them comes permission—to play more, to loosen our routines, to let the days stretch and unfold.
There is something quite magical about sharing this place with others.
Seeing it through their eyes.
Exploring new corners together.
Revisiting our favorite spots.
Letting people glimpse what our lives look like right now.
It’s been a sweet balance of activity and rest.
Movement and stillness.
Wonder and ease.
Lately, play has looked like:
watercoloring
making a Christmas tree out of drift wood
playing and floating at one of our waterfalls
watching a sunset at our property
crystal hunting
spa days
beaches
lattes
bedtime yoga
hot springs
swimming in our pool
lots of Phase 10 and Five Crown games
hiking …

…cacao and coffee tours
toucans
macaws
sloths
monkeys, oh my!

And then—after the friends depart—we keep playing.
We create a crystal heart on our build site.
We go camping up there, letting our bodies feel what it might be like to live on that land.
Listening. Imagining. Sleeping under the stars.
Oh, and DeWayne has bought new toys… a mini excavator and a welder.

After all of that, I return to resting.
Finding a new rhythm.
Letting the days soften again.
Preparing me for more play when the next round of friends arrives—February, March, and May.
And now, it feels less like “waiting” and more like living again.
